Themed – ‘Empowering Digital Citizens’, Sri Lanka’s premier ICT exhibition (Since 1992) organized by the Federation of ICT Industry Sri Lanka( FITIS) will be inaugurated it’s 15th edition on 11th November 2016 at BMICH, and will run for three days till 13th November 2016.
Being the flagship event of FITIS, INFOTEL has evolved to be the largest technology exhibition held in Sri Lanka and is patronized by all industry stakeholders including the PRACTICING ICT PROFESSIONALS, DECIION MAKERS FROM CORPORATE SECTOR, ACADEMICS, in all disciplines of knowledge, ICT ENTHUSIASTS, ICT CAREER SEEKERS, BUSINESSMEN and GENERAL PUBLIC who are increasingly becoming aware of ICT applications as a way of life. Infotel 2016 – Empowering Digital Citizens’
INFOTEL 2016- ‘Empowering Digital Citizens’ is aligning with national priorities of enhancing the digital infrastructure of the country for facilitating a digitally empowered eco system while improving the Citizens’ engagement in a digital society. Telecommunication and digital infrastructure has been identified as two of the key areas that would define the future of the nation by the government of Sri Lanka, aiming to enhance the living standards and quality of lives of the citizens.
Further, Infotel 2016 will be the platform to re-imagine everyday products and services as a whole new digital world of intelligent devices and systems. This year exhibition with over 200 stalls expects a patronage of over 100,000 local and international visitors including the decision makers of leading local and international organizations. The Exhibition will showcase the application of hardware, software & services, intelligent systems, Cloud, mobility, Internet of Things, and censers driven technologies etc to build a new technology era at Infotel 2016.
INFOTEL has in the past received, wide publicity throughout the country and the region, and this year it is expected to attract 100,000 + visitors.
His Excellency Maithripala Sirisena the President of the Democratic, Socialist, Republic of Sri Lanka has issuied a message for Infotel 2016 stated that, ‘This year’s INFOTEL exhibition which is themed ‘Empowering Digital Citizens’ is strongly aligning with national priorities of enhancing the digital infrastructure of the country for facilitating a digitally empowered eco system while improving the Citizens’ engagement in a digital society. Telecommunication and Digital Infrastructure have been identified as two of the key areas that would define the future of the nation by the government of Sri Lanka, aiming to enhance the living standards and quality of lives of the citizens. ICT plays a key role in successful knowledge economy and the government will pay attention on emphasizing the impact of ICT on Economic growth. Therefore, we should ensure the fulfillment of our national objectives to harness ICT innovations and thereby enhance the well- being of our citizens.”
