The 26th edition of Facets, Sri Lanka’s main gem and jewellery show, to be held from the 1st to the 4th of September 2016, will witness the launch of a Premier Pavilion. This -first of its kind- pavilion will feature meticulously crafted fine jewellery collections and branded timepieces from six of the leading local jewellery houses, namely: Careems, Chatham, Colombo Jewellery Stores, Lalitha Jewellers, Natural Sapphires and Sifani. The collections will showcase Sri Lanka’s: vast variety of magnificent gemstones; the workmanship of highly skilled local artisans; and its unique and trendsetting international designs.
The brands represented in the Premier Pavilion each have a rich and unique history as industry pioneers and leaders in Sri Lanka. Some have grown to become renowned international and regional brands.
The Brands
Careems, one of the oldest jewellery houses in Sri Lanka founded in 1890 has established itself as a premier destination for the fine quality gemstones and exquisite hand crafted jewellery. Colombo Jewellery Stores (CJS) founded in 1922 has continued to grow on its founder’s vision of selling fabulous gems and fashionable jewellery while never compromising on quality. The FACETS organizing committee announced that over 200 local and foreign exhibitors are slated to showcase their gem and jewellery products at the event. Over 10,000 visitors are expected to grace the four-day international event.
FACETS is organized by the Sri Lanka Gem & Jewellery Association (SLGJA) -the apex private sector organization representing the interests of all industry- in collaboration with the government’s National Gem and Jewellery Authority (NGJA) and the Sri Lanka Export Development Board (EDB).
