The CEAT Racing Team’s triumphant domination this year of motor racing meets in Sri Lanka continued at the Walawa Supercross in Sevanagala, with the team annexing the Champion Driver trophy and securing 13 podium finishes.
CEAT Racing Driver Pasindu Peiris won both races in SLGT Super Car category to take the coveted Champion Driver award at this event which saw CEAT Racing achieve five 1st places, seven 2nd places, and one fourth place.
Besides Pasindu Peiris, team members Upulwan Serasinghe and Evon Biyagee Gurusinghe were in top form, accounting for three first places between themselves.
The Walawa Supercross was organised by Sri Lanka Electrical & Mechanical Engineers (SLEME) of the Army in association with the Sri Lanka Motor Cycle Club (SLMCC).
The CEAT Racing Team for 2016 comprises of Upulwan Serasinghe, Janaka Dias, Pasindu Peiris, Lalin Kirinda, Prasanna De Alwis, Lt. Colonel Duminda Jayasinghe, Lt. Colonel Indu Samarakoon, Ushan Perera, Malika Kuruvitarachchi, Gayantha Rangana, Devin Serasinghe, Evon B. Gurusinghe and Deshan Solanki.
Prior to the Walawa Supercross, the CEAT Racing Team had won five consecutive Car Team Championships and two Motorcycle Team Championships at races conducted for the 2016 season.
The CEAT Racing Team competes under CEAT colours at the five race meets conducted by the Sri Lanka Auto-sports Drivers Association (SLADA) for the 2016 CEAT SLADA Championship and at the four race meets of the ‘CEAT Sri Lanka Super Series’ conducted by the Sri Lanka Association of Racing Drivers and Riders (SLARDAR).
