‘The Trail’ – a walk from Point Pedro in the north to Devundara or Dondra Point in the south, with the aim of establishing a cancer treatment unit at the Karapitiya Teaching Hospital in Galle, is currently in progress.

While the initial walk under this project commenced in 2011, it was to establish a cancer treatment hospital at Telippalai in Jaffna.

Following the success of the first phase of this ‘Trail’, the second phase which has now commenced expects to raise US dollars five billion in funds.

The Brand Ambassador for ‘Trail’, former Sri Lankan Test cricketer Mahela Jayawardene and a pioneer of this project, Sarinda Unamboowe joined Ada Derana Biz 24×7 to provide further details on this project.

The project ‘Trail’ was inaugurated in 2011 by Nathan Sivagananathan and Sarinda Unamboowe in collaboration with ‘Colours of Courage Trust’ to assist the island-wide fight against cancer in Sri Lanka. This phase of the walk which began on 06 October from Point Pedro is expected to reach Devundara or Dondra Point in the south after 28 days.
