Mahindra launches new electric car ‘e2oPlus’

BENGALURU: Mahindra Electric, part of Mahindra Group, on Monday announced the launch of its new electric car ‘e2oPlus’ priced between Rs 6.73 lakh and Rs 9.51 lakh (ex-showroom Bengaluru).

On a full charge, the Mahindra e2oPlus can travel for up to 140 km and can achieve a top-speed of 85kmph, a top company official said here.

The e2oPlus has four variants P2, P4, P6, and P8.

The P4 is priced at Rs 6.73 lakh, P6 at Rs 7.31 lakh and P8 at Rs 9.51 lakh (ex-showroom Bengaluru).

However, the company did not disclosed price of its P2 variant which it said is for fleet owners.

“We have now with the e2oPlus, eSupro for passenger and cargo, and the eVerito, we believe that we have covered the entry level segment for commercial and personal use,” Mahindra Electric Chief Executive Officer, Arvind Mathew said.

“Now its time to go into slightly high hierarchy.. and that’s what we are going to do,” he told reporters here.

“We have done four launches in this year, we will just keep doing this more and more, because we believe that we have to provide choice to the consumers…,” he said.

The company official also said they were developing a bigger electric 80 KW powertrain which would be able to run bigger vehicles going forward.

“There has never been a better time to embrace electric vehicles as it not only serves the purpose of a smart city car, but also fulfills the need to contribute positively to the environment,” Mahindra Electric CEO-designate Mahesh Babu noted.

The cars are available in four colours — coral blue, sparkling wine, arctic silver and solid white.
