A proposal by Finance Minister Ravi Karunanayake to release to the Central Bank of Sri Lanka the Rs. 4,055.1 million to be refunded under the third and final phase to the Golden Key depositors, to take rapid steps to liquidate the assets of the Golden Key Credit Card Company and its affiliated companies and refund the earnings to the Treasury, received Cabinet approval.
As decided by the Cabinet, under a system approved by the Supreme Court, Rs. 544.3 million as the first phase, Rs. 3,945.6 million as the second phase has been issued by the Treasury on behalf of Golden Key.
