Ritzbury together with Sri Lanka Squash Federation have made all arrangements to kick off the 27th Junior National Squash Championship 2016 on the 26th November 2016 at the Tamil Union squash courts. Ritzbury, Sri Lanka’s number one chocolate brand manufactured by Ceylon Biscuits Limited (CBL), has once again decided to assist and give a boost up for the country’s junior squash players; uplifting Sri Lankan sports being one of the CSR ethos of the organization.
Considered one of the premier school tournaments of the country, this year’s championship will have a participation of over 300 young players representing various parts of the country. This year’s tournament will feature all regular events, boys and girls under 9, 11, 13, 15, 17, and 19 including few novices events tailor made to attract tyros into the game of squash. It is predicted to have over 350 entries for this year’s tournament. Suggested venue will be at ‘Tamil Union squash courts’ and matches will be held from 3pm to 8pm daily on week days and 8.30am to 8pm on weekends/public holidays. Final events will be held on 03rd December 2016 at 04 pm.
Sharing the thoughts on the sponsorship, Cdr. Priyadarshana Jaayawardana, Secretary – Sri Lanka Squash Federation stated, “We are proud to have the assistance of a conglomerate like CBL and wish to extend our sincere thanks to Ritzbury for being with us for the past decade. Ritzbury is a brand which continually supports young Sri Lankan sports enthusiasts and Ritzbury’s presence in this tournament has been able to raise the profile of the squash game in Sri Lanka.
“Sponsoring the 27th Junior National Squash Championship 2016 is another great opportunity for Ritzbury in crafting national and international level players and as a corporate we also consider providing sponsorships to uplift Sri Lankan sports as a national responsibility,” said Theja Peiris, Group General Manager – Marketing of CBL.
