Uber, the on-demand technology company that has transformed the way people move in cities, has completed a year of operations in Colombo.

In just one year of operations in Sri Lanka, Uber has expanded its coverage area, started accepting cash as a payment option apart from debit/credit cards; introduced uberGO–a low-cost hatchback option in addition to uberX and continue to provide mobility to thousands of riders across the city.
Riders have over this past year enjoyed engaging on-demand activities such as UberCHOPPER and UberPUPPIES; participated in UberCARE as Uber worked alongside the Colombo Municipal Council and the Sri Lanka Red Cross Society to help those affected by the floods in May earlier this year. We received a silver for ‘Successful Use of Technology’ in the BTL Category at the Asia-Pacific Customer Engagement Forum & Awards for UberSURPRISE – an on-demand luxury ride experience with Mercedes-Benz and Saatchi & Saatchi for Valentine’s Day.
