German carmaker, Volkswagen has announced a significant recall of around 50,000 cars, which it has sold in the Chinese market.

The recall has been issued for its two models, Beetle and Golf, owing to a problem regarding the braking of the cars, while the cruise control is engaged.

The vehicles which have been included in the recall include Volkswagen Beetle cars, manufactured between July 1, 2012 and August 6, 2015. The Golf models on the other hand, range from those built between July 1, 2012 and July 6, 2013.

A probable problem in the noise filters of the cars is being hinted, which leads to the brake failure, when the car has been put into the cruise control mode for a relatively large duration of time. Volkswagen has requested the owners of all the recalled cars to take their vehicles to their nearest Volkswagen dealership, where it would diagnose and rectify the issue, without any cost to the owners of the cars.

Also recently, Volkswagen was once again in trouble for its dreaded emission scandal, this time, being fined in South Korea, for making false claims on the emission outputs of its models in its advertisements.

The South Korean authorities levied a hefty fine of 25.2 million pounds on the company’s South Korean arm and has also announced to pursue cases against five current and former executives at the company, who were a part of the whole emission scandal.

Volkswagen has been guilty of carrying out foul play and undertaking the biggest scandal in the automotive history. The company incorporated a cheat software in its cars, which let the car pass the emission tests when the car is on a test bench, which would then go on to hoodwink the prescribed emission standards by as much as forty times in real world driving conditions.
