Blue Mountain Apartments, part of the Blue Mountain Group, is set to commence the construction of its most iconic development project to date – Achilleion, Colombo’s first 7 star luxury apartment complex. The ground-breaking ceremony will take place on the 19th of January and the mega project is scheduled for completion in 2020. Valued at an investment of Rs. 30 billion Achilleion will bring new levels of innovation, opulence and elegance to the heart of Sri Lanka’s capital.

Heralded as one of the largest projects of its kind in the residential real-estate space in Sri Lanka, Achilleion will be a landmark venture for Blue Mountain Apartments and will serve as a key property in the company’s vast portfolio. To deliver a world-class project that has a strong local flair, Blue Mountain Apartments has partnered with the renowned Singapore-based Palmer and Turner Group, Sri Lankan architect Surath Wickramasinghe and interior design firm Index. Earlier this year, Achilleon’s show apartment was unveiled – rising 100 ft above sea level, it was believed to be the tallest stand-alone show apartment in the world. Most recently, Achilleion was recognised at the Asia Pacific Property Awards 2016/2017, one of the region’s top awards shows that is dedicated to acknowledging exceptional real-estate projects across the region.

Commenting on the upcoming ground-breaking of Achilleon, Dr.Hiran Hettiarachchi (MBBS-Colombo & MBA-Australia), Group Chairman of Blue Mountain, stated: “We look forward to commencing the construction of Achilleion in the near future and are delighted to have already sold over 50% of the apartments in the complex. We have also noted a significant interest in apartments from investors, who have recognised that the return-on-investment for each unit can reach up to 30% in just two to three years. Achilleon is an important milestone project for the Blue Mountain Group as it is of a substantial scale and will truly showcase our ability to deliver global levels of excellence in design, construction and property development. We are a proudly Sri Lankan company and look forward to commencing even more innovative projects of this nature that will help to transform the real-estate landscapes of Sri Lanka and other key countries around the world.”

The project site is located in Bambalapitiya, Colombo 4 in close proximity to Colombo’s main shopping centres, schools, restaurants and supermarkets. A total of 584 apartment units (with one, two and three bedrooms) will be available, each featuring smart technology, chic and lavish interiors and the finest fittings. Achilleion is designed to embody the essence of luxury living and residents will have access to range of services including their own private helicopter, a fleet of Mercedes Benz cars and access to a 24-hour medical centre. The 50th floor will feature a restaurant with 360-degree views of the city and Indian Ocean, other key features of the property include an iconic sky bridge, (the first of its kind in Sri Lanka) a 28m long infinity pool, two additional swimming pools, spice garden, club house, party hall, a health centre, gymnasium and a comprehensive library.
