Al-Aman World Capital Centre had launched a massive advertising campaign recently that the foundation laying ceremony of its project in Sri Lanka would be held on 04 February 2017.
However, during inquiries by Ada Derana, it came to light that that this particular project has not been started as yet. Attempts to contact the company for further details proved a failure since the telephone numbers of this company too were confirmed as not operational.
In its pre-event advertising campaign, Al-Aman World Capital Centre claimed that this massive building complex to be constructed within Slave Island, Colombo 02 would comprise 117 stories and that after completion it would be the tallest building within South Asia.
It further stated that this 625 metre high building would comprise two towers and would become the 9th tallest building in the world.
However, there are no firm records anywhere regarding the exact location of this proposed building.
The official website of this project states that this particular project is being implemented by the Al-Aman Group. Though at first glance this company appears to be a Middle Eastern entity, in fact, according to the Al-Aman Group website, this company is an international trading company incorporated in Sri Lanka in 2001. By now, it has established a subsidiary in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
The official website of the World Capital Centre states that the Al-Aman Group is involved in two other projects apart from the World Capital Centre projects and that they are the Aman 101 – Royal Empire along the coastal region of Colombo North and the Aman Royal Island proposed to be constructed on the Mandaitivu Island in the Jaffna peninsula.
Updating of information on the official Al-Aman World Capital Centre Facebook page too has been suspended now.
