The Ceylon Chamber of Commerce will hold a seminar on the newly passed ‘Inland Revenue Act’ on the 11th September, 2017, which will be addressed by the State Minister of Finance, Honorable Eran Wickramaratne.
The State Minister of Finance, who will be the keynote speaker is expected to explain to the audience, the rationale for the new tax bill, overall tax reforms agenda, and the government’s plans for fiscal consolidation and economic growth.
Honorable Wickramaratne’s address would be followed up with presentations by Mr. Sulaiman Nisthar, Partner, Ernst & Young and Ms. Shamila Jayasekera, Partner-Tax, KPMG
The duo will later join in for a panel discussion, which will also include Mr. S. R. Attygalle, Deputy Secretary of the Ministry of Finance, Mr. Ivan Dissananayake, Commissioner General, Department of Inland Revenue and Ms. Thanuja Perera, Tax Policy Advisor, Ministry of Finance.
Mr. Duminda Hulangamuwa, Chairman of the Taxation Steering Committee of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce will moderate the discussion, while the welcome address would be delivered by Mr. Anushka Wijesinha, Chief Economist of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce.
The seminar which will be held at the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce starting at 2 P.M will help the private sector to gain a clear understanding of the income tax implications of the new Act.
