The much looked forward to event SATA 2017 has commenced the countdown. The ceremony will be held in the Maldives from the 27th October to the 29th at the ‘Equator Village’ as the host and all other hotels in the ADDU ATOLL better known as ADDU CITY will be celebrating the SATA 2017 as well.
Commenting on this years event SATA President Ismail Hameed said, this year there is a marked increase in the response. This is proof of the acceptance of SATA as the hallmark of tourism awards in the region. From Sri Lanka all the major chains are taking part. Some of Sri Lanka’s biggest hotel chains have been nominated for SATA 2017 including : Jetwing Hotels, Cinnamon, Kingsbury , Uga Escapes , Galle Face , Mount Lavinia and several more are also in the running. Further many other major players from the region are also taking part. With the SATA 2017 attracting nominations from 5 Countires (India, Maldives , Sri Lanka, Bhutan and Nepal).
Commenting on the ceremony Hameed said, the SATA will be an event spanning 3 days. The 27th October will be an opportunity to the industry persons to meet , 28th the Gala event and Awards Ceremony and the 29th the Addu City Island Festival. This will be an event that will bring thetop stake holders in tourism in the South Asian region.
Srilankan Airlines will be having a direct flight to Gan Island via Colombo. Therefore everyone flying in from India , Nepal and Bhutan will transit in Colombo Airport before heading with there direct flight to Gan from Bandaranaike Intl Airport.
