Most of the Foreign Direct Investments (FDIs) that had flowed into Sri Lanka during 2015 has been from Hong Kong. Meanwhile, the Mauritius Islands, Netherlands, China and India have been identified respectively as the other countries which have made FDIs in Sri Lanka during the year.
Most of these FDIs have been towards land development, tourism and telecommunication related projects. Accordingly, 22 per cent of the total FDIs into Sri Lanka in 2015 have been towards land development, 19 per cent towards tourism and 14 per cent towards the telecommunication sector, states the 2015 Annual Report released by the Central Bank of Sri Lanka.
