eBay ties up with HelloCorp to launch Retail Exports business in Sri Lanka

With an aim to boost trade and further strengthen eBay’s reputation as a global leader in retail exports, eBay has signed a master agreement with HelloCorp (Pvt) Limited to launch its cross border trade operations in Sri Lanka. The tie-up will allow merchants from Sri Lanka to export their products to over 39 countries where eBay has its operations.

HelloCorp has been mandated to undertake all business development activities including seller acquisition, account management, training on eBay tools, workshops and seminars on behalf of eBay.

Sri Lanka is a growing regional hub for online retail export and is known to offer distinctive products to the world namely USA, UK, Canada, Australia and Germany. Approx. 3000 merchants from Sri Lanka have already started using the platform to export their products to over 162 million eBay buyers across the globe.

Commenting on the tie-up Mr. Latif Nathani, Vice President, eBay said, “We are extremely delighted to initiate our Cross Border Trade operations in Sri Lanka through HelloCorp. Sri Lanka is known for its quality driven products that are exported across the globe. Our vision is to become a trusted and meaningful business partner and channel for merchants of all sizes to explore and thrive in overseas market. Hence, we are committed to promote global commerce in its true sense.”

Trevin Speering, Head of eBay Operations, HelloCorp, said, “HelloCorp has been a respectable business in the outsourced service industry for over a decade. The mandate from eBay is testimony of the service quality and results we have able to deliver for our clients. We are confident that we will be able help grow eBay’s business manifold in Sri Lanka.”

In 2015, eBay enabled $82billion of gross merchandise volume. As of December 2015, eBay has 162 million active buyers on its platform with over 800 million listings.
