CINEC Campus Celebrates Another Sucessful Graduation Ceremony

CINEC Campus recently held its graduation ceremony at the BMICH Colombo to award degrees and diplomas to the students of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology in collaboration with University of Wolverhampton UK, Faculty of Management and Social Sciences in collaboration with Dailan Maritime University, China, Department of English Language and Communication Skills, CINEC Metro Campus, the BTEC Higher National Diploma and the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport.

The Chief Guest for the event was Hon. Mohan Lal Grero, State Minister for Higher Education Sri Lanka, with the Guest of Honor being, Mr. D.C. Dissanayake Secretary to the Ministry of Higher Education and Highways
Gracing the occasion were a host of other dignitaries from relevant industries comprising of the Chairman of CINEC, Mr. Hemantha Jayanetti, Chancellor of CINEC, Prof; P.K. Mukherjee , President of CINEC, Capt: Ajith Peiris, , Vice President of CINEC , Prof( Capt) Nalaka Jayakody, Head of the School of Engineering of University of Wolverhamption UK ,Dr. Syed Hasan , Vice President Prof. Xu Minqiang, from Dailan Maritime University, China, Regional Director Asia, Pearsons Qualifications International Ms.Premila Pauraj, Chairman, Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport, Capt. Lasitha Cumaratunga , Dean, Faculty of Engineering and Technology Dr.Janaka Liyanagama, HoD – Faculty of Management and Social Sciences Mr.Lalith Edirisinghe, HoD – Department of English Language and Communication Skills Mr. Lasantha Basnayaka, and the Head of CINEC Metro Campus Mr. Chandima De Silva.

An impressive number of 258 graduates obtained their certificates and awards for the Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) degrees for Electronics and Communications , Mechatronics, Automotive Systems, Mechanical and Civil Engineering, BTEC Higher National Diplomas for Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Mechanical and Civil Engineering, BSc. International Transportation Management and Logistics, PhD and MSc’s in Transportation Planning and Logistics, MBA in Logistics and Supply Chain Management , Bsc in Computer Networks , and Professional Diplomas in Teaching , Shipping Management and Freight Forwarding.

The Chancellor of CINEC, Prof; P.K.Mukherjee in his address emphasized that he was justifiably proud of the great strides made by CINEC over the years in delivering high quality education and training in the fields of Maritime, Engineering, Computer Networks, International Transport Management and Logistics, and Teacher Training, all of which were affiliated with some of the top universities in their respective fields.

President of CINEC Capt: Ajith Peiris added that the campus measured the success of their programmes through the employability of their students and were happy to announce that they have fulfilled this criteria admirably. through the high demand of their students. Chairman of CINEC, Mr.Hemantha Jayanetti, and Prof( Capt) Nalaka Jayakody, Vice President of CINEC also joined in congratulating the graduates and encouraged them to commit themselves to give back something of value to the country and the industries they serve through the knowledge they have gained.

Messages were also delivered by the Vice Chancellor, University of Wolverhamption UK , Vice President of Dailan Maritime University, China and Regional Director Asia, Pearsons Qualifications International, all of whom expressed their deep satisfaction with the progress made to date by CINEC .

Chief Guest, State Minister for Higher Education, Hon: Mohan Lal Grero, delivered an inspiring address on taking up the challenges presented in life and in pursuing and achieving ones dreams, whilst Guest of Honor, Mr. D.C. Dissanayake, Secretary to the Ministry of Higher Education & Highways outlined the importance of private education in Sri Lanka and commended CINEC on the important role they play in helping to shape the minds of the future generations and gearing them to serve their motherland in their respective industries.

The event concluded with presentations of special awards made to the outstanding students of each batch.
With a focus built on harnessing entrepreneurship, innovation, academic rigor, practical experience and ethical values, CINEC Campus will continue it’s mandate in taking a leadership role in the spheres of maritime, logistics and engineering education, by offering relevant programmes to fit future industry needs.
