Inquiries are continuing into the alleged Rs. 9.5 billion loss caused through investments by the Employees’ Provident Fund (EPF) in the government’s securities secondary bonds market, said Central Bank Governor Dr. Indrajit Coomaraswamy while responding to questions by reporters at a media conference at the Central Bank of Sri Lanka premises today (09 May).
As the initial step towards this, two officials including a Assistant Governor of the Central Bank against whom there are allegations have been transferred to another department and that explanations would be called for from them in the near future, added the Governor.
Meanwhile, a committee headed by a retired judge would be appointed in the near future to carry out the relevant inquiries, said Dr. Coomaraswamy.
