The second Sri Lanka-Japan Dialogue on “Maritime Security, Safety and Oceanic Issues” was held at the Ministry of Defense (MoD) yesterday (27th June).
Acting Secretary Defense for MoD R.P.R. Rajapaksha and Director Southwest Asia Division, MOFA Takashi Ariyoshi headed Sri Lanka and Japan delegations respectively.
During the meeting, both parties had cordial discussions on bilateral maritime relationship between the two countries, giving prominence to emerging oceanic issues and mechanisms that can adopt to ensure maritime safety and security in the region.
Second Sri Lanka-Japan Dialogue held on the highlighted theme augmented the mutual understanding between two nations.
Mementoes were also presented to the Japanese delegation to mark the occasion.
